PRADA FRAMES 2024 Explores the Concept of “Home” in Milan

Prada Frames, the annual multidisciplinary symposium held concurrently with the Milan International Furniture Fair, is set to host its third edition in 2024. This year’s theme, “Being Home,” delves into the intricate relationship between the natural environment and design, addressing contemporary challenges within the context of living spaces.

Established as a platform for collective exploration and idea sharing, Prada Frames engages in scientific and educational discussions. “Being Home” focuses on redefining the concept of home as not just a source of comfort but also as a shelter and a foundational infrastructure for services. This dynamic space continuously evolves, shaping community dynamics.

The symposium, curated by the renowned design and research studio Formafantasma, gathers contributions from scholars and professionals across different fields. The prestigious lineup of guests includes Paola Antonelli, Brigitte Baptiste, Kate Crawford, Jack Halberstam, OFFICE Kersten Geers, David Van Severen, Anna Puigjaner, Alice Rawsthorn, Isabella Rossellini, and Françoise Vergès.

This significant event will take place from April 14th to April 16th, 2024, at the historic Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan. Decorated with 15th and 16th-century objects and furniture, this 19th-century Neo-Renaissance residential museum serves as an ideal venue for discussions on contemporary design. It represents a unique fusion of personal and art history, showcasing early expressions of Milanese design.

During the symposium, the museum will host intimate conversations and thematic lectures in various spaces such as the living room, bedroom, dining room, bathroom, and library. This setup fosters uninterrupted exchange of information and enhances participants’ immersive experience.

This inclusive approach reflects Prada’s commitment to fostering dialogue and innovation in design and environmental sustainability.
