After two years of touring across France, including an unforgettable performance at Olympia, the members of Magenta Club have finally returned with their unreleased single “Brumeux.” This song is the first excerpt from their second album, which is set to be released in 2024. The experiences gained during their two-year tour have allowed the band to grow and develop their musical identity through direct interaction with the audience and live performances. This new single, “Brumeux,” seamlessly integrates with this evolution, exploring the atmosphere of confusion and anxiety in today’s era.
Magenta Club spent two full years touring, performing over 80 shows across France. The tour concluded on December 6 at the Moulin Rouge Theater, providing the band with an opportunity to get closer to the audience and mature musically through live experiences. This period also strengthened their creative and compositional process, resulting in a unique blend of dance music and meaningful content.
The single “Brumeux” embodies Magenta Club’s goal of exploring the chaos of our times. Initially conceived as a house-style piece, the song underwent significant transformations, filtered through trip-hop and alternative rock influences. The final result is a track that returns to the band’s roots, with syncopated loops that perfectly complement the lyrics, highlighting live-played instruments such as raw guitars, grating bass lines, and unforgettable percussion.
Magenta Club considers music videos to be an essential part of their creative expression. For the “Brumeux” music video, the team collaborated with renowned director Robin Lachenal, known for working with significant artists in the French independent music scene such as Flavien Berger, Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains, Frustration, Koudlam, and Zombie Zombie. The video immerses us in a dark, industrial atmosphere reminiscent of a pagan black mass. The members of Magenta Club depict the Parques, mythological deities of hell who weave, unravel, and cut the threads of human fate, creating a captivating visual narrative.
“Brumeux” marks a significant departure from Magenta Club’s previous artistic style, embracing new sounds and influences. This single is a deliberately surreal musical piece that reflects a period filled with uncertainty, hinting at the atmosphere and sound of their upcoming second album. Magenta Club once again demonstrates their ability to adapt and grow, giving fans a glimpse of the exciting artistic direction they are heading towards. We eagerly anticipate discovering their future.
