Montblanc has launched a timeless new fragrance series, paying homage to the brand’s tradition of innovation and exceptional quality through the art of perfumery. This marks a pioneering move for the luxury brand.
The four fragrances—Black Baccara, Vetiver Ink, Leather Extreme, and Vetiver Glacier—evoke the brand’s unique dimensions: the iconic writing instruments, the magic of ink on paper, the expertise in leather craftsmanship, and the icy majesty of Montblanc, all of which have continuously inspired the brand to strive for innovation and excellence.
Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc’s Artistic Director, said, “Our brand’s story can be told from many perspectives, but this is the first time it has been woven into the enchanting world of fragrances.”
The Montblanc collection is a sensory invitation to explore the brand’s foundational origins and values, drawn in by these bold new notes.
2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the Meisterstück pen, revered across generations for its timeless design and superior writing experience.
These unique codes are creatively translated into the design of the fragrance series. The luxurious 125ml bottles are reminiscent of Montblanc’s glass ink bottles, topped with a gorgeous black lacquered cap featuring the logo. Along the side of the bottle, a silver metal plate engraved with the name of the fragrance recalls the clip on the Meisterstück writing instruments. The box naturally draws inspiration from a precious writing paper, reminiscent of the texture of Saffiano leather, and features a black ornament with the name of each fragrance written on it.
“I wanted to create an unexpected woody charm through a raw, smoky texture,” explained Nathalie Lorson, the nose behind Vetiver Glacier.
French visual artist Marie De La Ville Baugé’s illustrations for the fragrance series are artworks dedicated to the spirit of writing and mountaineering exploration, highlighting the connection with the brand’s origins.
